Sanford Horowitz

Sandy Horowitz was born on August 17th 1945 at the Brooklyn Jewish Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. It has been said that the Brooklyn Jewish Hospital has the status of being the birthing place of many well known Hollywood celebrities and other famous individuals from every profession.

Most of Sandy’s Brooklyn childhood centered being under the protective eyes of his older brother, Melvin. Where safety was only secured by how old and big your big brother was and the reputation of the toughness of the block you lived on. It was a far cry from Long Island where his parents moved as did many other young Jewish families in the 1950’s.

Sandy discovered in junior high that he had what is now known as ADHD. Sandy states “I can’t begin to express how frustrating and difficult those early school years turned out to be. No matter how much I wanted to study and get good grades, my condition wouldn’t allow me. I couldn’t sit down and  focus. I had to keep moving. I still have ADHD today, but eventually I learned to use it to my advantage which has lead me to many exciting adventures and careers.”

Sandy has had many careers including banking, building, competitive sailing, being a writer of Native American culture, to being a spiritual student, film maker, and world traveler.

Sanford states, “Finally now, I am a published writer where I find myself with a real voice to help others.”
